Job summary

Thrive Trowbridge is seeking a Compliance Technologist (Food QA / Technical) for a permanent, full-time position in the Melksham area. The role focuses on maintaining product specifications, ensuring accurate labelling, and upholding supplier compliance and QA standards.

You will support regulatory compliance across UK and international markets, handle technical queries, and contribute to New Product Development with a strong eye for detail and strong organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Quality Assurance or Technical role within food (chilled) / FMCG.
• Understanding of food safety, product specifications and labelling requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, reviewing and maintaining product specifications and technical information.
• Checking labels and artwork to ensure compliance with legislation and customer requirements.
• Maintaining supplier records and reviewing technical documentation.
• Carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet standards including BRC.
• Responding to technical queries and collaborating with colleagues, suppliers and customers.
• Supporting New Product Development from a technical/compliance angle.
• Ensuring product information and documentation meet UK and international market requirements.

Compliance Technologist (Food QA / Technical)

Do you have experience in Quality Assurance within food or FMCG and a keen eye for detail? Are you looking for a varied technical role where you can help ensure products meet the highest standards of quality, safety and compliance? If so, Thrive Trowbridge may have the role for you working for our client in the Melksham area who are actively looking to recruit a Compliance Technologist to join the team on a permanent basis.

What you will be doing:

• Product specifications: Preparing, reviewing and maintaining accurate product specifications and technical information.
• Labelling and artwork: Checking product labels and artwork to ensure they meet relevant legislation and customer requirements.
• Supplier compliance: Maintaining supplier records and supporting the collection and review of technical documentation.
• Quality assurance: Carrying out quality checks and helping ensure products meet required standards, including BRC requirements.
• Technical support: Responding to technical queries and working with colleagues, suppliers and customers to resolve issues.
• New Product Development: Supporting the technical and compliance aspects of new products as they progress through development.
• Regulatory compliance: Helping ensure product information and documentation meet the requirements of UK and international markets.

What you will need to succeed:

• You’ll ideally have experience in a Quality Assurance or Technical role within food (chilled) / FMCG.
• A good understanding of food safety, product specifications and labelling requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• An interest in food legislation, labelling and product compliance.
• Knowledge of BRC requirements and experience with New Product Development would be particularly beneficial.
