Job description

Reporting to the Director of Property and Estates Services, the Compliance Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring Women's Pioneer Housing meets all legal and regulatory obligations related to property safety and compliance across our housing portfolio. You will ensure the effective coordination of safety processes, responding to operational needs, and supporting compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

  • Leading the delivery of a comprehensive compliance management regime.
  • Working alongside external consultants and internal teams to ensure consistent safety standards.
  • Supporting the Director of Property and Estates Services in maintaining robust regulatory compliance across our housing portfolio, including our registration with the building safety regulator, now known as the building control authority and ensuring that we remain compliant on all our legislative requirements. Our head office is based in Hammersmith West London. All staff work from the office every Tuesday to enable meaningful collaboration, and you must be able to affirm your ability to work this arrangement. This postholder will be expected to work in an agile way according to where the activity is best suited which will include our residential buildings, our head office or working from home. We will provide the technology you need to support you with agile working.

Upon completion, we will manage over 1,000 social housing properties, including our first high-rise building (above 18 metres). To support this expansion, we have developed this new role. You will bring flexibility, strong organisational skills, and a customer-focused approach ensuring our buildings are safe and our residents and stakeholders receive an excellent service.

We are seeking an experienced and qualified professional who brings knowledge, leadership, and a passion for social purpose.

  • Up to date working knowledge of health and safety legislation, principles and standards, including the Building Safety Act 2022
  • Experience of working in a construction, building maintenance or property management environment at a senior level.
  • NEBOSH general certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing Maintenance and Asset Management (or achieved by March 2026) Whilst working towards NEBOSH Level 6 National Diploma by December 2026
  • Proven ability to deliver in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment with a passion for professional curiosity, resilience and adhering to WPH's core values.
