  • Strong knowledge of AML & SRA Codes of Conduct.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and deadline-driven.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and updating compliance procedures, processes, and controls.
  • Supporting firm-wide compliance with SRA standards, AML legislation, GDPR.
  • Conducting compliance checks, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Drafting and updating template letters, training programmes, and policies.
  • Escalating issues and breaches appropriately.
  • Playing a key role in accreditation processes like Lexcel, SRA audits.
  • Providing clear, supportive compliance guidance to lawyers.

We're looking for an experienced compliance professional looking to take on a key role in shaping compliance culture within a growing regional law firm.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Compliance Officer / Legal Risk & Compliance Specialist to join a supportive team, where you’ll play a vital part in ensuring best practice across the business and have the scope to grow into a wider leadership role.

They're looking for a true generalist to cover every aspect of compliance.

The Role?
  • Developing and updating compliance procedures, processes, and controls
  • Supporting firm‑wide compliance with SRA standards, AML legislation, GDPR and risk reviews
  • Conducting compliance checks, audits, and risk assessments
  • Drafting and updating template letters, training programmes and policies
  • Escalating issues and breaches appropriately, with practical recommendations
  • Playing a key role in accreditation processes such as Lexcel, SRA and CQS audits
  • Monitoring supervisory meetings, file reviews, and mentoring supervisors
  • Providing clear, supportive compliance guidance to lawyers and leadership
