Join Our Team: Are you passionate about improving access to heritage collections and confident navigating information legislation? Heritage & Culture Warwickshire (HCW) is looking for a Compliance Officer to join our team in a permanent, part-time role.

We're seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to lead on compliance across HCW. You'll join a team of archive, library, museum, and learning professionals who care for and provide access to Warwickshire's historic collections. You'll ensure our services meet legal and regulatory standards, including GDPR, FOI, and copyright legislation.

The role involves managing a wide range of information requests – from media enquiries to highly sensitive personal matters such as adoption – requiring sound judgement, discretion, and a strong understanding of legal frameworks. You'll also manage data licensing and digital access, and work with colleagues and partners to ensure robust data protection and responsible use of our collections.

We're looking for someone with:
  • Strong knowledge of information legislation (FOI, EIR, DPA, copyright)
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Confidence handling sensitive enquiries and applying exemptions
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work independently
  • Experience in the heritage sector or with policy development is a plus
