About the role

We have a great opportunity for a Compliance Manager on a full‑time, fixed‑term secondment basis for 23 months.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead on the property compliance function (gas, electrical, water hygiene, asbestos, fire safety, lifts and escalators, lightning conductors, etc.) across our commercial and retail, leisure, adult social care and other operational properties ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations, Approved Codes of Practice (ACOP), official standards and best practice.
  • Oversee and direct contractors to carry out compliance testing and remedial works on the council's directly managed properties, as well as monitor and audit both directly managed and outsourced managed properties.
  • Establish regular compliance meetings to provide updated information on the standards of all elements of health and safety.
  • Report to the Head of Strategic Asset Management and lead on the council's building compliance with the support of the wider team, managing budgets and ensuring the timely completion of projects.
Other obligations

Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to build a rapport with colleagues, tenants and other professionals, and must ensure the avoidance of AI use during interviews.
