Clayton Legal in Feltham area is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to oversee the firm's regulatory compliance and risk management. You will work closely with senior management to promote a strong culture of compliance and deliver practical guidance across the business.

The ideal candidate has UK law firm compliance experience, strong SRA knowledge, and the ability to advise senior stakeholders with integrity and discretion.

Qualifications

• Previous compliance experience within a UK law firm.
• Strong knowledge of SRA Standards and Regulations, AML, GDPR.
• Experience supporting COLP/COFA.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the firm's regulatory compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations.
• Support and advise the firm's COLP and COFA in fulfilling their regulatory responsibilities.
• Develop, review, and implement compliance policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and assess their impact on the firm.
• Conduct internal compliance audits and file reviews.
• Manage AML, Know Your Client (KYC), sanctions, and financial crime compliance processes.
• Investigate compliance issues, complaints, and breaches, recommending corrective actions.
• Deliver compliance training and guidance to partners and staff.
• Maintain compliance records, registers, and reporting for senior management.
• Liaise with regulators, auditors, and external advisers where required.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Compliance Manager to join our team and play a key role in ensuring our firm continues to meet all regulatory and legal obligations.

The Role

As Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the firm's compliance framework, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and best practice. Working closely with senior management, you will promote a strong culture of compliance and risk management across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the firm's regulatory compliance with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards and Regulations.
• Support and advise the firm's COLP and COFA in fulfilling their regulatory responsibilities.
• Develop, review, and implement compliance policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and assess their impact on the firm.
• Conduct internal compliance audits and file reviews.
• Manage Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Client (KYC), sanctions, and financial crime compliance processes.
• Investigate compliance issues, complaints, and breaches, recommending appropriate corrective actions.
• Deliver compliance training and guidance to partners and staff.
• Maintain compliance records, registers, and reporting for senior management.
• Liaise with regulators, auditors, and external advisers where required.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous compliance experience within a UK law firm.
• Strong knowledge of SRA Standards and Regulations, AML legislation, GDPR, and legal risk management.
• Experience supporting or working alongside a COLP and/or COFA.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to advise senior stakeholders.
• A proactive and pragmatic approach to managing compliance risks.
• High levels of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.

Desirable

• Relevant compliance, legal, or risk management qualification.
• Experience implementing compliance management systems and regulatory reporting.
• Knowledge of Lexcel or other legal quality standards.
