Overview

Job Title: Compliance Manager (Fire Lead) | Employer: Worcestershire County Council | Location: Worcester, Worcestershire (Hybrid – minimum 2 days per week in office)
| Pay Rate: Up to £24.33 per hour (PAYE) | Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00 | Contract Type: Temporary / Agency Contract (Inside IR35).


About the Role

Worcestershire County Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced Compliance Manager (Fire Lead) to join our team. This key position requires a proactive, self-assured professional who can work autonomously while providing strategic and operational oversight of fire safety compliance across council properties.


Key Responsibilities


  • Ensure all fire safety compliance requirements are met and maintained.

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on fire safety regulations and best practices.

  • Lead risk assessments, audits, and inspections to mitigate fire hazards.

  • Monitor and report on compliance performance across the organisation.

  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and training related to fire safety.

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, and external regulators.


Person Specification / Essential Requirements


  • Proven experience in fire safety compliance and management.

  • Strong technical knowledge of relevant fire safety legislation and standards.

  • Competent, proactive, and confident decision-maker.

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.


Working Pattern

Hybrid role: Minimum 2 days per week in Worcester office.
Flexible and mobile for the remainder of the week.
