THE OPPORTUNITY
Compliance Manager

Team Swift are recruiting for a Compliance Manager who will be responsible for ensuring the organisation operates in full adherance to all applicable legal, regulatory, and industry standards including Finance, Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.

This role is responsible for playing a key role developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures that support ISO certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and other relevant standards.

The Compliance Manager shall act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, oversee internal audits, manage business risk assessments, and drive continuous improvement to safeguard the company's reputation and maintain operational integrity.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures aligned with UK legislation, industry standards, and ISO certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely updates to internal stakeholders, processes and IMS documentation.
  • Lead internal audits and coordinate external audits to maintain certifications and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct business risk assessments and manage implementation of corrective actions to mitigate compliance-related risks.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on audit compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies and certification authorities.
  • Investigate and drive resolution on compliance breaches through the required departments, reporting findings and corrective actions to the SHEQ Director.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in the IMS to demonstrate compliance during inspections or audits.
  • Maintain the compliance risk register and report regularly to SHEQ Director.
  • Support ethical business practices and ensure adherence to anti-bribery and corruption policies.
  • Lead compliance-related projects, including system upgrades and process improvements.
  • Benchmark compliance performance against industry best practices and recommend enhancements.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, Engineering, Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental teams to ensure integrated compliance management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance compliance performance and operational integrity.
  • Support the integration of compliance requirements into business processes and strategic planning.
  • Actively support and champion the EPIC core values program and the Kata / Lean / CI program.
  • Develop and drive a company culture that emphasises quality, continuous improvement, development and high performance.
  • Support the business to deliver strategic quality projects and be a key agent of change in their implementation.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Educated at degree level or similar.
  • Sound knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • ISO Lead Auditor experience.
  • Minimum 2 years management experience in a Quality or Compliance environment.
  • Significant track record of implementing quality systems and driving improved performance.
  • Regulated sector experience such as Automotive, Aerospace or Medical devices.
  • APQP and FMEA experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Management and communication skills.
