About the Company

We\'re partnering with a fast-growing fintech in the payments and instalment plans space, backed by strong leadership and a clear vision for growth. Following the recent hire of their Head of Operations, the business is now looking for a Compliance Manager to help strengthen and scale their compliance and risk frameworks as they continue to expand.

The Role

As Compliance Manager, you\'ll play a key role in developing and maintaining robust compliance operations across payments, KYC/AML, and fraud prevention. You\'ll work closely with senior leadership and operations teams to ensure the company continues to grow responsibly, while maintaining high standards of regulatory and operational excellence.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being close to the detail while building scalable processes for the future.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily KYC/AML operations, including queue management, enhanced due diligence (EDD) triggers, and QA sampling.
• Strengthen payments compliance processes, working closely with the Operations team on chargeback handling, settlements, and incident management.
• Act as the first line of defence for collections, risk, and fraud processes — ensuring controls are efficient and proportionate.
• Partner with the Head of Operations to embed compliance into broader business and customer workflows.
• Support ongoing regulatory reporting, internal audits, and process improvements.
• Liaise with payment partners and card schemes (e.g., Stripe) to ensure compliance obligations are met.
• Keep policies, frameworks, and staff training materials up to date with FCA and AML requirements.

What We\'re Looking For

• Proven experience in compliance or risk within a regulated fintech or payments environment.
• Strong understanding of KYC/AML operations, including queue management and EDD.
• Exposure to Stripe chargebacks or payment production operations is ideal, though not essential — a willingness to learn and collaborate with technical ops teams is key.
• Awareness of collections, fraud prevention, and transaction risk in a payment\'s context.
• A hands-on approach, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced scale-up.
• Excellent communication skills and sound judgement in balancing compliance and customer experience.
