Overview

Are you an experienced Solicitor who's ready to step away from fee earning — but still wants to play a vital role in the legal profession?

This is a rare opportunity to join a highly respected Leicester-based law firm in a pivotal Compliance Solicitor position.

The Role

Our client is seeking a Compliance Solicitor (5+ PQE) to join their internal compliance team. This is a key non-fee earning role, ideal for a solicitor who enjoys detail, structure, and ensuring high professional standards.

Responsibilities
  • File Reviews: Conducting regular and ad-hoc file audits across departments to ensure compliance with SRA and firm policies.
  • Regulatory Oversight: Supporting the COLP and COFA with regulatory duties, risk management, and internal processes.
  • Consultancy Programme Compliance: Overseeing the compliance aspects of the firm's consultancy arm — providing guidance, documentation, and support to consultants to ensure full adherence to the firm's standards.
  • Policy & Procedure Development: Reviewing and refining internal compliance policies to reflect best practice and regulatory changes.
About You

You'll be a qualified solicitor with at least 5 years' post-qualification experience, ideally with solid exposure to compliance, risk, or regulatory issues within private practice.

This role will particularly suit someone who:

  • Has strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Enjoys the structure and detail of compliance work.
  • Wants to step away from fee earning but remain an integral part of a successful legal team.
  • Is confident liaising with senior stakeholders and maintaining firm-wide compliance standards.
The Firm

This is a forward-thinking, well-established law firm with a strong reputation across the region. They offer a professional yet supportive working environment, excellent resources, and genuine flexibility.
