Job summary

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to lead and oversee all statutory landlord compliance across our housing portfolio.

This is a senior role with responsibility for ensuring full compliance with UK housing, health & safety, and building safety legislation. You will provide assurance to senior leadership, the Board, and external regulators that our homes are safe, compliant, and well managed.

You will manage key compliance areas including Gas, Electrical, Fire Safety, Asbestos, Legionella, and Lifts, working closely with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all statutory property compliance activities across the organisation
  • Ensure full compliance with UK housing, health & safety, and building safety legislation
  • Oversee servicing programmes, inspections, certifications, and remedial works
  • Monitor and manage contractor performance, quality, and compliance
  • Lead audits, inspections, and regulatory engagement
  • Identify and resolve areas of non-compliance quickly and effectively
  • Provide clear compliance reporting to senior leadership and the Board
  • Manage compliance budgets and ensure value for money
  • Work closely with the Building Safety Manager to manage building safety risks
  • Champion a strong culture of compliance, safety, and customer focus
About You

You are a senior compliance professional with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of statutory landlord obligations.

Essential
  • Significant experience in a property compliance, building safety, or health & safety role
  • Strong knowledge of UK housing and landlord compliance requirements
  • Hands‑on experience managing Gas, Electrical, Fire, Asbestos, Legionella, and Lift compliance
  • Experience managing contractors, audits, and regulatory inspections
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
Desirable
  • Experience working in social housing, local authority, or a regulated property environment
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS, CIOB)
  • Experience working with building safety frameworks and regulators
