Food Safety Manager & QMS/Lead Auditor

Well‑established family business is looking for a Food Safety Manager & QMS/Lead Auditor to join our team. This role is crucial in maintaining and reviewing HACCP plans, ensuring compliance with various standards, and managing a multidisciplinary food/feed safety team.
Day‑to‑day of the role
- Maintain and review HACCP plans and ensure compliance with BRC, RSPO, HALAL, KOSHER, FAIRTRADE, FSSC22000, SEDEX System, and other external audits.
- Manage a robust auditing programme to meet requirements set by major customers and ensure all departments are fully compliant.
- Record and delegate customer complaints to appropriate departments, providing timely feedback to management.
- Ensure the food/feed safety management system is maintained and updated, promoting technical business improvement practices.
- Develop and maintain Company Health & Safety Systems by ensuring compliance and enforcement of the policy.
- Schedule and manage customer quality audits and the Food Safety Internal Audit programme.
- Manage supplier approval and maintain the supplier information and certificate database.
- Develop, implement, and oversee the maintenance of Quality KPIs and drive actions to continually improve these KPIs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in food safety management and quality assurance within the food or pharmaceutical industries.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRC, RSPO, HALAL, KOSHER, FAIRTRADE, FSSC22000, SEDEX, and other relevant food safety standards.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain flexible with changing priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining strong relationships.
- Professional certifications related to food safety and quality assurance are highly desirable.
