  • Lead sustainability strategy, including carbon/energy reduction, waste minimisation, circular economy initiatives, ethical procurement and community/social value programmes.
  • Work with project teams (both in-office and site-based) to ensure that sustainability and compliance targets are embedded in delivery and monitored effectively.
  • Undertake site visits in the London to monitor, advise and correct sustainability performance and compliance with procedures.
  • Collect, analyse and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as energy usage, waste volumes, emissions, social value outputs and other sustainability/compliance metrics to senior management and clients.
  • Contribute to business development and tendering by embedding compliance and sustainability content into bids, contracts and pre-construction processes.
  • Maintain registers, documentation and audit trails for compliance and sustainability activities; ensure that project teams are trained and supported in best practice.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and subcontractors on environmental legislation, compliance requirements and sustainability best practice.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a compliance, sustainability or environmental management role within the built-environment (construction, fit-out, refurbishment or related sectors).

  • Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive and solution‐oriented with the ability to travel regularly between the Kent office and London/site locations (TRAVEL PAID)
Desirable
  • Experience working within a main-contractor environment (particularly in commercial, residential or cut & carve/refurbishment delivery).
  • Familiarity with sustainability certification schemes (e.g., BREEAM, LEED) and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Personal Attributes
  • Highly organised, with great attention to detail and a hands-on approach.
  • Enthusiastic about driving positive environmental and compliance outcomes, and comfortable working in a developing, evolving business.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities under pressure, while maintaining integrity, professionalism and a collaborative mindset
