Job summary

Kroo Bank Ltd in London is seeking a Compliance Manager to support regulatory requirements across our growing, regulated fintech. You will work with the Head of Compliance and CRO to strengthen frameworks and ensure products and services comply with industry best practices.

This role emphasizes a customer‑centric culture, policy development, and collaboration with product teams. Hybrid working from our Central London office and remote days offer a flexible, impactful career at Kroo.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience across compliance, risk and regulatory areas within banking.
  • Knowledge of SMCR, FCA regulations and financial promotions.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant subject with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory analysis and implementation: collaborate with the Head of Compliance to interpret regulations and implement requirements.
  • Support Complaints, TCF and Vulnerable Customers frameworks to address regulatory needs.
  • Collaborate with Product teams to embed compliance in banking and lending products and services.
  • Foster a customer-centric culture and ensure transparency, integrity, and accountability in compliance.
  • Policy development and improvement: assist in updating policies and procedures in response to regulatory changes.
  • Perform other duties to support the compliance function and participate in training.

How you will contribute

The Compliance Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the Compliance function for our rapidly growing, regulated organisation. This position ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, supports policy development, and fosters a customer‑centric culture. The Compliance Manager will also be instrumental in enhancing the new compliance frameworks and procedures. Other responsibilities include:

  • Regulatory Analysis and Implementation: Collaborate with the Head of Compliance to analyse and interpret relevant regulations. Work closely with various teams to implement regulatory requirements efficiently. Stay up-to-date with changes in regulatory environments and ensure compliance strategies are current.
  • Complaints, TCF, and Vulnerable Customers Framework: Support the business with advice to ensure frameworks are effectively addressing customer needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Product Team Collaboration: Partner with the product team to integrate compliance requirements into the development of banking and lending products and services. Ensure that new products and features comply with relevant regulations and industry best practices. Provide guidance and support on compliance‑related matters.
  • Customer‑Centric Culture: Promote a customer‑centric approach within the compliance function and across the organisation. Ensure that compliance initiatives align with the goal of delivering excellent customer service. Foster a culture of transparency, integrity, and accountability.
  • Policy Development and Improvement: Support the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and the Head of Compliance in updating and improving existing policies and procedures. Lead the development of new compliance policies and procedures in response to regulatory changes or organisational needs. Ensure all policies and procedures are documented, communicated, and enforced consistently.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs and support the overall compliance function. Participate in compliance training and development initiatives for staff. Represent the compliance function in internal and external meetings as required.

Hybrid Working

Qualifications

While not essential, the following experience and qualifications are highly desirable in our ideal candidate for this position:

  • Extensive experience across various facets of the Compliance function, including conduct risk, consumer credit regulations, payments, complaints handling (with expertise in dealing with the Financial Ombudsman Service), Treating Customers Fairly, conflicts of interest, financial promotions, anti‑bribery and corruption, data protection, and other related areas (not all are required).
  • Regulatory compliance experience in the banking sector
  • Knowledge of the SMCR.
  • A positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant subject.
