Job summary

Briggs Equipment in Dundee is seeking a Compliance Inspector to oversee inspections of MHE/MEWP equipment, ensuring adherence to LOLER and PUWER regulations. The role covers a wide geography, requiring travel across Aberdeenshire, Dundee, Perth and Kirkcaldy as needed.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in MHE/MEWP engineering, strong customer relations, and solid knowledge of health and safety legislation.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Opportunity: Compliance Inspector

Contract: Permanent

Location: Dundee (Covering postcodes in Aberdee, Dundee, Perth and Kirkcaldy)

The Impact you will have:

• Adopting and applying a health and safety culture responsible for keeping up to date with knowledge and understanding of all relevant compliance and regulatory rules and procedures that relate Thorough Examinations (LOLER & PUWER).
• Accountable for making well informed decisions, and willing to take responsibility.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining good customer relationships.
• Responsible for ensuring all inspections are undertaken to agreed standards, documented and reported in a timely manner.
• Responsible for maintaining personal safety through risk assessments and safety awareness.
• Effective at short, medium and long-term planning, in order to organise site inspection activities and work allocation to maximise productivity.
• Being able to travel effectively within allocated work area and nationally if required.
• Responsible for maintenance of master data accuracy through effective reporting of equipment data.
• Responsible for upholding the image and standards of the Company through personal presentation and company vehicle condition.

What will help you to excel in this role:

• Extensive experience in an MHE/MEWPs engineering capacity
• Significant customer relationship management skills
• Significant knowledge and awareness of Health & Safety legislation relating to LOLER and PUWER
• Substantial evidence of commercial awareness
• Significant PC skills with experience in MS applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) Use of hand held tablets for report completion.
