Job summary

Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology is seeking a Compliance Engineer for a permanent role based in Severn Beach, Bristol. You will provide guidance to Design, Production, Test and Service to ensure products comply with current legislation.

Responsibilities include creating and updating Technical File documents, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating safety reviews. Ideal candidates hold an Engineering/Physical Sciences degree or equivalent (HNC/HND acceptable) and have electro-mechanical

Qualifications

  • Engineering/Physical Sciences Degree ideal; HNC/HND or relevant qualifications considered.
  • Electro-mechanical background with plasma processing experience preferred.
  • Good understanding of product compliance and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Work with NPI and Engineering teams to ensure new products meet directives and standards.
  • Create, review and update product Technical File documents.
  • Conduct risk assessments and regulatory/industry standard assessments.
  • Identify non-conformities and initiate corrective actions and FRNs.
  • Chair and document safety reviews and support UL/CSA inspections.
  • Perform EMC emission measurements and support EMC immunity testing.
  • Develop compliance guidelines and training for NPI/Engineering teams.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Compliance Engineer for a permanent role based in Severn Beach, Bristol. As a Compliance Engineer, you will be responsible for providing the Design, Production, Test, and Service departments with up-to-date guidance and support to ensure that our products comply with the latest relevant legislation. Key Responsibilities
  • Work with NPI \ Engineering teams to ensure new products meet the relevant directives and standards.
  • Create, review and update product Technical File documents.
  • Conduct risk assessments.
  • Conduct assessments to regulatory and industry standards.
  • Identify non-conformities, recommend product and process changes, and initiate Fracas fault reports (FRNs).
  • Chair and write up safety reviews.
  • Support UL, CSA and Semi S2 inspections.
  • Conduct EMC emission measurements and support EMC immunity testing.
  • Work with other departments to develop and maintain product compliance.
  • Develop compliance guidelines and training classes for NPI \ Engineering teams.
  • Assist in developing Working Instructions, Test Procedures, and manual content.
  • Visit, when necessary, overseas customers and provide necessary support during customer visits to Plasma Technology.
  • Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably required by the Company.
Education and Qualifications
  • Engineering/Physical Sciences Degree would be ideal, but we are open to considering candidates with HNC/HND or other relevant formal qualifications.
  • Ideally, an electro-mechanical background with experience in plasma processing equipment.

  • Balanced, practical, logical and methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Good attention to detail, focused on getting the task done at a reasonable pace.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
