Job description

A leading rental property developer who specialises in the refurbishment of the build to rent properties are looking to appoint a Compliance Coordinator to be based between their office in Salford and out on sites across the Northwest. You will be responsible for coordinating property repairs (refresh ready for new tenants) and managing any defect works.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Working hours will be Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm.
  • Answer calls and e‑mails from customers regarding their property repairs, dealing with them empathetically, professionally and positively, ensuring their queries are answered and resolved within the agreed timescales.
  • Maintain regular communications/updates with the customers.
  • Log all works and costs accurately onto the system.
  • Maintain accurate and concise records of all repairs, solutions and notes/comments.
  • Manage the appointment of contractors and consultants and procuring contractors to deliver the required services.
  • Involves a range of legal and safety obligations for landlords and letting agents, including providing required documents like the "How to Rent" guide, gas safety, and Energy Performance Certificates, ensuring the property has working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and protecting a tenant's deposit in a government‑approved scheme.
  • Other requirements include conducting "Right to Rent" checks and complying with new sanctions legislation by checking tenants and landlords against the UK sanctions list.
  • Responsible for ensuring that financial controls are being adhered to and followed, monitoring budget expenditure and reporting variances.
  • To manage the core compliance service for housing stock, ensuring all regulatory and legislative responsibilities for gas, asbestos, legionella, electrical, fire safety, lifts and associated mechanical and electrical services are achieved.
  • Maintain/complete accurate and concise records of all repairs, solutions and decisions on the system.
  • Filing of all complaints received and logging all correspondence.
  • General administration.
  • Assisting Estates team with the uploading of the relevant compliance documentation.
  • Assisting Estates team with obtaining the necessary compliance documentation from sub‑contractors and from the internal team.
  • Assisting Estates team with the updating of drawings.
  • Determining and defining work priorities, in order to maximise the use of your time and ensure that the most urgent/important work is carried out first.
  • Assist with the signing in and out of all subcontractors, and keep up to date with subcontractor details.
  • Providing additional admin cover to include holiday cover and absenteeism.
Skills & experience required

The successful candidate will be highly organised, familiar with co‑ordinating multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive on working to deadlines. Good communication, proficient with IT and high attention to detail, are skills you will possess, in addition to being self‑motivated, customer focussed, target driven, positive and a team player.
