Job summary

WE Talent is recruiting a Compliance & Complaints Officer for a financial services business in Chelmsford. The role covers complaints handling, regulatory administration, Consumer Duty and customer outcomes, with 32 hours over 4 days and a salary of £40,000–£45,000 plus an annual bonus.

The successful candidate will have experience in UK financial services compliance, complaints handling and a good understanding of FCA requirements, with strong analytical and communication skills and a proactive

Qualifications

• Experience in compliance, complaints, risk, conduct or customer outcomes within UK financial services.
• Practical experience handling, investigating or overseeing customer complaints.
• Good understanding of FCA requirements and customer outcomes.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and work to regulatory deadlines.
• Interest in developing compliance and regulatory knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Managing customer complaints from receipt through to resolution, ensuring fair handling within regulatory timescales.
• Investigating complaints and preparing clear, balanced responses.
• Identifying trends and root causes to drive improvements.
• Supporting compliance monitoring, file reviews and assurance activity.
• Supporting Consumer Duty and customer outcome activity.
• Preparing and maintaining regulatory management information.
• Escalating significant or complex issues appropriately.
• Collaborating with colleagues to improve customer outcomes.
