About the Role

We're looking for a proactive and detail-driven Compliance & Audit Analyst to join our Waste Management team at Southern Water. This is an exciting new role with plenty of scope to develop and grow as you make it your own. You'll be at the heart of ensuring our third-party suppliers deliver high-quality waste services across the region, with a particular focus on hazardous waste, grit and screenings, and tankering. You'll work closely with teams across the business to make sure jobs are done right, on time, and safely, while also identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and verify orders for waste removal services - hazardous waste, screenings, and general waste.
  • Monitor inboxes, respond to queries, and elevate health and safety issues or complaints as needed.
  • Audit supplier performance through spot checks and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

  • Produce regular reports and insights to help drive improvements in efficiency and service quality.
  • Support site visits and carry out ad-hoc checks to maintain operational standards.
What You'll Bring
  • A keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills - especially useful in auditing and compliance.
  • Great communication skills to liaise confidently with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Experience in service delivery, operations, or waste management - industry knowledge is a plus.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to manage escalations and problem-solve effectively.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and relevant compliance tools or systems.
