Job summary

Costa Coffee is seeking a Roastery Compliance Advisor for Basildon, a 12 month maternity cover. The role focuses on health, safety and compliance across the Basildon Production site, with ISO 45001 and Coca-Cola KORE standards in scope. You'll drive training, audits and improvements while supporting a safe, high performing environment.

The role blends on-site and hybrid work, with opportunities to champion a culture of safety and continuous improvement across teams and contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience in health & safety, compliance or quality roles in manufacturing or production.
• NEBOSH or equivalent qualification with strong risk assessment knowledge.
• Experience conducting audits, investigations and implementing improvement initiatives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Organised with attention to detail and able to analyse safety data.

Responsibilities

• Champion health, safety and compliance across the production site.
• Lead risk assessments, audits, inspections and incident investigations.

Compliance Advisor (12 month Mat Cover) - Basildon Roastery (Hybrid)

The Roastery Compliance Advisor plays a vital role in creating and maintaining a safe, compliant, and high-performing production environment across Costa Production. Working closely with teams across the business, this role is responsible for managing day-to-day health and safety compliance, driving continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining key compliance standards including ISO 45001 and Coca-Cola KORE requirements, and ensuring robust risk management, auditing, training, and reporting processes are in place. The role helps protect colleagues, visitors, and contractors while supporting operational excellence and a strong culture of safety across the Basildon Production facility.

What you’ll do:

• Champion health, safety and compliance across the Production site, ensuring colleagues, visitors and contractors can work safely and confidently.
• Lead risk assessments, audits, inspections and incident investigations, driving continuous improvement and best practice in health and safety.
• Maintain and improve compliance systems and standards, ensuring adherence to ISO 45001 and Coca-Cola KORE requirements.
• Deliver engaging safety training, build capability across teams and promote a strong culture of accountability and compliance.
• Monitor and report key health and safety metrics, partnering with leaders, suppliers and stakeholders to identify risks, implement improvements and support operational excellence.

Who you are:

It’s your unique ingredients we’re interested in:

• Proven experience in Health & Safety, Compliance or Quality roles within a manufacturing, production or food manufacturing environment.
• A recognised Health & Safety qualification (such as NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent), with strong knowledge of risk assessment and compliance processes.
• Experience conducting audits, incident investigations and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, train and engage colleagues at all levels.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail, confidence using Microsoft Office, and the ability to analyse and report compliance and Health & Safety data.
