Job description

O lives at home with his parents and younger sibling. He communicates using eye gaze technology and facial expressions, as he is non‑verbal. O uses his eyes to direct people to what he wants and enjoys making choices about his daily activities. He knows his own mind and is clear about his likes and dislikes. O enjoys watching TV and DVDs, and his support worker helps him plan and complete other enjoyable activities when on shift. O accesses the community in his mobility vehicle, which his dad drives, and he also attends college, where he enjoys spending time with support staff.

Role Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within complex care or a healthcare environment and be in good general health, as the role involves moving and handling. You'll work closely with O's family and healthcare network to deliver person‑centred care tailored to his individual needs. Experience with PEG feeding, cerebral palsy, type 2 diabetes, tracheostomy care (including suctioning and cough assist), use of nebulisers, manual handling, pressure care, and personal care would be highly beneficial to ensure the best possible support for O.

What We Offer

This role offers 36 hours per week on a rolling rota, working 8am‑4pm for day shifts and 10pm‑8am for night shifts (one night per week). You will also work 1 in 3 weekends. The rate of pay is £13.50 per hour, plus £50 per night shift.,
