This is an excellent opportunity for a support worker to work alongside a client with complex needs, including schizophrenia, autism, and mildly challenging behaviour, in Torquay, Devon. The role involves supporting the client’s personalized routines, completing daily living activities, administering medication, providing emotional support, and collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will need to have experience working with complex needs/mental health support and possess the softer skills of being a clear communicator with the motivation and ability to engage the client to build a solid, supporting relationship. The role involves supporting and engaging with personalized routines, completing daily living activities, administering medication, providing emotional support, and maintaining accurate records of care provided.

We have an excellent opportunity for a support worker to work alongside our client in Torquay, Devon

Our client is a man in his 50s who has complex needs, including schizophrenia, autism and mildly challenging behaviour. He live is his own property with a 24/7 support team. He enjoys crazy golf, bowling, the cinema, seafront walks, arts and crafts, visiting the zoo and going out for food.

Due to the client’s support needs the successful candidate can be female or male, will need to have some experience working with complex needs/mental health support and possessthe softer skills of being a clear communicator with the motivation and ability to engage the client to build a solid, supporting relationship.

Hours: 36 over three days in a two week period (Week 1 Wednesday and Thursday 08:00-20:00, Week 2 Tuesday 08:00-20:00)
