Job summary

Prestige Nursing & Care in Yeovil is seeking a compassionate Complex Care Assistant to provide waking night support for a non-verbal, non-mobile client living with his family in Crewkerne. You’ll help him settle to bed, monitor his wellbeing overnight and keep him safe and comfortable.

Full specialist training will be provided for BiPAP and seizure management. The role includes paid travel time, weekly pay and ongoing training with career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months' paid care experience.
• Caring, compassionate and reliable nature.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Commitment to delivering person-centred care.
• Good professional and personal references.
• Driving licence is advantageous but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS/PVG checks will be carried out.

Salary: GBP14.02 - GBP24.62 per hour

Job Title - Complex Care Assistant - Nights

Located in Crewkerne, Somerset

Night shifts - 10.00pm - 08.00am

Hourly pay - £16.01 - £24.02 with weekly pay

Plus 1 hour of paid travel time per shift

11 hours paid for every shift worked

About the Client

Our client is a placid and kind-natured young man living with his family in Crewkerne. Although he is non-verbal and non-mobile, he enjoys interaction and communication and has a busy daily routine.

He is looking for a caring and attentive person to provide waking night support, helping him settle into bed, monitoring his wellbeing overnight and ensuring he remains safe and comfortable throughout the night.

He uses a BiPAP machine and experiences seizures, but full specialist training will be provided so you feel confident supporting him. He also requires assistance with his morning routine, including personal care, showering and getting dressed ready for the day ahead.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing waking night support and observation
• Supporting with bedtime and morning routines
• Assisting with personal care
• Monitoring and responding appropriately to seizures
• Supporting the safe use of a BiPAP machine
• Promoting dignity, comfort and wellbeing at all times
• Building a positive and trusting relationship with the client and family
• 1 hour of paid travel time included with every shift
