Job summary

Alcedo Care Lancaster is recruiting a Complex Care Assistant to provide person-centred support to individuals with advanced care needs across Lancaster, Morecambe, Heysham and surrounding North Lancashire areas.

You will work 20–40+ hours per week with flexible shifts, including days and nights. The role offers excellent pay (£14.75–£15.75 per hour) plus holiday pay and pension, plus a free DBS check and funded training.

Qualifications

• At least three months’ care experience in a UK care setting or through regularly supporting a family member.
• Caring, patient and reliable approach.
• Confidence supporting daily routines and independence.
• Willingness to complete client-specific training.
• Experience supporting someone with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Supporting a client living with an Acquired Brain Injury.
• Assisting with personal care and daily routines.
• Preparing meals and supporting with household tasks.
• Helping with grocery shopping and other errands.
• Supporting access to the local community.
• Accompanying the client when using public transport.
• Supporting attendance and participation at university.
• Encouraging involvement in social and community activities.
• Spending meaningful time with the client and supporting weekend activities.
• Promoting choice, confidence and independence.
• Following the client’s care plan and recording support accurately.
