Job summary

SSE PLC is hiring a Completions Lead to drive the transition of plant and equipment from construction through commissioning to operations. The role requires coordinating across multiple project packages and managing the Completions Management System to ensure safe, on-time handover of systems and assets.

You will collaborate with project teams, contractors and operational stakeholders to deliver projects that generate clean energy for millions of homes while upholding safety and quality

Qualifications

  • An HNC in engineering or equivalent technical knowledge.
  • Experience supporting completions, commissioning, handover or similar project delivery.
  • Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and with contractors/clients.
  • Strong organisational, digital and problem-solving skills; experience with MS Office and project systems.
  • Excellent communication, proactive approach and ability to manage priorities safely.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Completions Management System across construction packages.
  • Coordinate mechanical completion activities and manage records and documentation.
  • Work with contractors and commissioning teams to ensure systems are ready for handover.
  • Partner with Asset Management to plan handover of plant and equipment and ensure documentation.
  • Develop and implement the completions strategy and manage delivery risks and safety standards.

Base Location:

You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations or at site: Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Lowestoft, Reading whilstother SSER locations can be considered.

Salary:

£51,600 - £77,400 + car /car allowance-if applicable + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

Join the team delivering some ofUK's largest and most significant renewable energy projects. As Completions Lead, you'll play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient transition of plant and equipment from construction through commissioning and into operations.

Working across multiple project packages, you'll lead the completions process, oversee the Completions Management System and coordinate the successful handover of systems and assets. You'll collaborate with project teams, contractors and operational stakeholders to help deliver project's safely, on schedule and ready to generate clean energy for millions of homes.

You will
  • Lead the Completions Management System, ensuring it is established, maintained and consistently applied across all construction packages to support successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate mechanical completion activities, ensuring inspection records, completion documentation and outstanding works are effectively managed to enable safe progression of the project construction.
  • Work closely with contractors, package managers and commissioning teams to monitor progress, resolve issues and ensure systems are ready for handover in line with project priorities and delivery milestones.
  • Partner with Asset Management to plan and deliver the handover of plant and equipment, ensuring all operational information, documentation and contractual requirements are completed to support a smooth transition into operations.
  • Develop and implement the project's completions strategy, identify and manage delivery risks, contribute to contract requirements and ensure compliance with technical, quality and safety standards throughout the completions process.
You have
  • An HNC (or equivalent) qualification in an engineering discipline, or relevant technical knowledge and experience.
  • Experience supporting completions, commissioning, operational handover, or similar project delivery activities within engineering, infrastructure, energy, or related sectors.
  • Proven ability to collaborate, interface and influence effectively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, clients, operational teams, and other stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Strong organisational, digital, and problem-solving skills, with experience using Microsoft Office and project, asset, or completions management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and delivery.
