Job summary

SSQ in London is seeking a Competition Associate with circa 3–5 years’ PQE in competition litigation to join its disputes team. You will work closely with senior lawyers on a broad range of matters, developing your practice in a leading platform.

The role focuses on competition damages claims, collective proceedings, CAT and High Court matters, with exposure to international disputes. You will have meaningful responsibility under supervision, with opportunities for development and progression

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ PQE or equivalent experience in competition litigation
• Strong technical competition law and litigation experience
• Ability to provide practical, commercial legal advice
• Confidence working directly with clients and developing trusted relationships
• Collaborative approach within larger case teams
• Interest in business development and identifying new matters
• Strong commercial awareness including matter and financial management
• Interest in mentoring more junior lawyers

Responsibilities

• Handle standalone and follow-on competition damages claims
• Manage collective proceedings
• Work on matters before the Competition Appeal Tribunal and High Court
• Represent both claimant and defendant sides in competition litigation
• Engage with high-profile and international disputes
• Exposure to wider commercial and banking disputes within the disputes team
