Job summary

Gateshead Health is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to support the Critical Care Department at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

You will help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable ward environment, assist with catering and minor maintenance, and work closely with nursing staff to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Awareness of basic housekeeping duties.
• Previous experience working as a housekeeper.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and maintaining cleaning standards on the ward.
• Ensure equipment and facilities are cleaned per policy.
• Assist patients with food orders and feeding when required.
• Prepare and serve snacks and meals with the nursing team.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of ward areas and equipment.
• Support with maintenance tasks and waste disposal as needed.
