Job summary

Purple DPSS is seeking a Female Support Worker / Personal Assistant to assist a home-based 11-year-old girl in South Ockendon (RM15). You will provide personal care, assist with PEG feeding, medication and mobility, and support participation in community activities.

The role includes morning and afternoon shifts, school transport preparation and keeping detailed care records. Experience with wheelchairs, moving and handling training, and a compassionate, person-centred approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in home care or supporting a child with disabilities.
• Ability to perform personal care with dignity and respect.
• DBS check and right to work in the UK required.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care with dignity, respect and compassion.
• Assist with morning routines and school transport preparation.
• Support PEG feeding and medication administration after training.
• Operate safely with specialist equipment, including a ceiling hoist.
• Facilitate community activities and outings.
• Encourage independence and participation.
• Keep accurate care records and collaborate with family and support team.
