Job summary

Self Direct Support Options Fife is seeking a friendly Personal Assistant to support a lady living with severe ME and Long Covid. The role involves light personal care, nutrition support, medication assistance, and everyday tasks.

You will manage medical appointments, take notes, and advocate for access needs with GP or hospital teams. We value a calm, adaptable attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to inclusivity.

Qualifications

• Experience in care is helpful.
• Moving & Handling training is helpful.
• Full training available; attitude and willingness to learn matter most.
• Driving licence is essential to attend appointments and outings.

Responsibilities

• Provide light personal care.
• Support with nutrition and help with medication.
• Assist with basic household tasks.
• Handle medical administration and advocacy: prepare for appointments, take notes, call GP or hospital to advocate for access needs.
• Offer companionship and encouragement to go out into the community.
• Work independently to maintain a calm, dark environment for sensory rest; adapt to client needs.
• Be mindful of allergies/intolerances and signs of allergic reactions.
