Job summary

Hollybank Trustees Ltd. is seeking a warm and reliable Housekeeper to join the team at Beech Lodge Care Home in Saint Austell. You will help maintain the home to high cleanliness standards and support residents with a caring, person-centred approach.

The role focuses on creating a welcoming, safe environment and meaningful interactions with residents, with a 30-hour contract and a pay rate shown as £12.80–£25.60 per hour. Bank holidays attract enhancements.

Qualifications

• Naturally kind, caring, and compassionate.
• Highly motivated with great attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
• Comfortable communicating with residents and colleagues.
• Experience in housekeeping or cleaning preferred, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures.
• Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, sinks, and countertops.
• Making beds and changing linens.
• Using cleaning tools such as vacuums, mops, and cloths effectively.
• Keeping bathrooms stocked with toiletries and fresh towels.
• Cleaning mirrors, glass surfaces, and communal areas.
• Tidying and refreshing residents’ rooms.
• Monitoring and ordering cleaning supplies as required.
• Reporting repairs or maintenance issues promptly.
• Assisting in laundry duties and ensuring cleanliness throughout the home.
• Interacting positively with residents — joining conversations, offering a smile, and contributing to their sense of home.
