Job summary

Medway Council is seeking a compassionate Personal Assistant to support a lady with significant physical disability to live independently at home in Brompton. The role involves morning routines, personal care, and use of equipment such as a ceiling hoist, with flexibility on hours to be agreed with the employer.

Qualifications

• Previous care experience is desirable but not essential.
• Willingness to learn moving and handling equipment safely.
• Good communication and a patient, respectful approach.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with getting out of bed using ceiling hoist and other equipment.
• Providing personal care with dignity and respect.
• Assisting with washing, dressing and preparing for the day.
• Supporting with continence care.
• Preparing breakfast and drinks if required.
• Carrying out light household tasks related to care and wellbeing.
• Providing reassurance and person-centred support while promoting independence.
