Job summary

Emanuel Care in Colchester and surrounding areas is seeking caring, reliable individuals to join our team. You will support older people and adults in their own homes, building relationships and helping them live independently with dignity.

We offer fixed hours, paid mileage, paid DBS checks, and thorough training with ongoing support. New to care? You are welcome here with a comprehensive induction and shadowing to help you settle in.

Qualifications

• Kind, caring and respectful approach.
• Reliability, good timekeeping and a positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn and follow care plans and agreed ways of working.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Respect for confidentiality, dignity and individual choices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
• Full driving licence valid for driving in the UK.
• Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check and the training required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Visiting people in their own homes and providing care per care plans.
• Supporting personal care with dignity and privacy.
• Preparing meals, snacks and drinks; assisting eating and drinking.
• Assisting with medication in line with care plan and procedures.
• Helping with household tasks such as light cleaning and laundry.
• Providing companionship, reassurance and emotional support.
• Encouraging independence and supporting client choices.
• Assisting with mobility and transfers using appropriate equipment.
• Keeping clear, accurate records of care provided.
• Reporting changes in wellbeing or safeguarding concerns.
• Communicating respectfully with clients, families and colleagues.
