Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking a General Assistant for Marlfield residential and nursing care home in Alton. You’ll help with domestic, laundry and kitchen tasks while building positive connections with residents, contributing to the daily running of the home and upholding high standards of care.

No experience is required – we provide all the training you need to be a General Assistant. This permanent role involves some weekend and bank holidays, with enhancements paid in line with policy.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness in residents' bedrooms, communal areas, toilets and facilities.
• Assist with meals: Serve meals, help residents eat and drink, clear tables, stack dishwasher.
• Laundry duties: Support with laundry tasks; training provided.
• Accompany residents: Escort residents to appointments, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Build relationships: Foster positive connections with residents, families and colleagues.
