Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a Care Support Assistant providing 1:1 support to a young person in his own home. The role focuses on daily living, personal care, and community access, with complex health tasks undertaken after training.

You will work a 2:1 package with another assistant, across day, waking night and sleep-in shifts, and must hold a full manual UK driving licence. Right to work in the UK is essential and DBS checks are part of eligibility.

Qualifications

• Caring, positive and respectful approach with a person-centred mindset.
• Good communication, handover and record-keeping skills.
• Basic IT skills and willingness to use electronic systems.
• Good spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support with daily living, personal care and community access.
• Assist with health tasks after training, including medication tasks and PEG/feed support.
• Support tracheostomy and ventilation care, observations and respiratory support as directed.
• Carry out moving and handling, pressure area care and catheter care as needed.
• Perform equipment and comfort checks and maintain home safety and records.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues, family and managers; complete handovers.
