Job summary

Bandrum Nursing Home Limited in Scotland is seeking a compassionate Care Assistant to support residents with daily needs, maintain dignity and independence, and contribute to a caring home environment.

You will work with a supportive team to deliver person-centred care, build relationships with residents and families, and adhere to health and safety standards while supporting mobility and daily routines.

Qualifications

• Registered member with the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council).
• Valid PVG Scheme membership.
• Genuine passion for caring and supporting others.
• Knowledge of the workings of a care environment.
• Commitment to person-centred care.
• Effective communication with residents and colleagues.
• Team player and flexible in duties.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with personal care and daily routines.
• Get to know residents and understand individual preferences.
• Encourage independence and choice wherever possible.
• Assist residents to take part in activities, outings and appointments.
• Build positive relationships with residents and their families.
• Act as a key worker for residents where required.
• Contribute to individual care plans and reviews.
• Recognise and report changes in health or wellbeing.
• Support residents safely with mobility and moving/handling.
• Work closely with Nurses, Senior Carers and the wider team.
• Create a safe, welcoming and positive environment.
• Follow the SSSC Codes of Practice and Health and Social Care Standards.
