A community-oriented housing organization in Manchester seeks a company accountant to provide strategic and operational financial support. The ideal candidate will have a recognised accountancy qualification and extensive experience in financial management, particularly in preparing budgets and management accounts. This role emphasizes collaboration and a commitment to community engagement, offering a flexible working environment and various benefits.
Youll provide strategic and operational finance support to Great Places and will help embed financial planning commercial thinking and budgetary control.
The company accountant will work with our new Head of Finance to support our subsidiary companies.
Youll ensure there are robust financial plans and sufficient financial reporting to enable better decision making.
Youll provide support in financial appraisals of schemes.
Youll prepare business plans and budgets for the relevant subsidiaries in line with the Group timetable and with sufficient granularity to allow input into the group model in Brixx using group assumptions.
Youll prepare monthly management accounts financial KPIs and cash flows for the relevant subsidiaries in line with Group timetables.
Youll prepare statutory accounts for the relevant subsidiary calculate and pay gift aid in line with agreed policies.
Youll contribute to service improvements within the wider finance teams.
Undertake all balance sheet reconciliations for companies affected by transactions involving the relevant subsidiary.
Drawdown and repay intercompany loan funding administer inter group interest payments and manage the inter group trading balances.
Youll contribute to financial modelling and appraisals of schemes.
Youll contribute to management or board reports specifically around financial implications and financial impacts.
Recognised professional accountancy qualification or strong QBE.
Extensive experience in financial management.
Experience of preparing budgets forecasts and management accounts.
Strong IT skills and proficient in excel and report writing.
Proven relationship builder and influencer with stakeholders.
A commitment to understand the challenges and opportunities that exist in the communities in which we work. We particularly value lived experience in social housing.

Ability to work flexibly and when needed outside normal working hours to ensure service continuity.

You will be required to attend a number of face to face training sessions as well as virtual sessions and e-learning. This part of your role is vital and of equal importance as the day to day aspects.
