The role requires a UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work, with strong communication skills to support home exercise programmes and stock control. Training and supervision are provided with NHS CPD opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient safety and dignity at all times, using appropriate methods for challenging behaviours.
  • Record and submit clinical activity data accurately and timely.
  • Maintain, clean, monitor and loan equipment and keep accurate records.
  • Order and stock control of materials and equipment as required.
  • Support administrative and housekeeping duties as required.
  • Be an active member of a weekend rota or 7‑day service if needed.

To work in multidisciplinary community setting as part of a dynamic team and support therapists in delivering high quality therapy interventions to the patient. Please be aware that a UK driving licence and access to a vehicle that can be used for work purposes are required for this role. To assist with delivery of therapy through home exercise programs and education. To communicate with therapist regarding patient progress and support patient's functional recovery. To support service with ordering , maintaining stock and equipment. To use excellent communication skills to ensure clinical advice and treatment programmes are delivered sensitively. Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond. The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008. Setting individual objectives through appraisals and competencies will be provided. All generic therapy assistants benefit from regular supervision sessions which are fortnightly to start.   • To carry out specified assessments, interventions and programmes under the direct supervision of a qualified clinician, in line with Trust competencies.
  • To report progress of patients during the implementation of planned interventions and programmes.
  • To work with an individual or group in a variety of settings appropriate to the patients need.
  • To respect the individuality, values, cultural and religious diversity of patients, contributing to the provision of a service sensitive to these needs.
  • To ensure patient safety and dignity at all times, using relevant methods to manage patients with challenging behaviours.
  • To utilise effective communication skills to ensure clinical advice and treatment programmes are delivered sensitively.
  • To liaise with members of the multidisciplinary team following discussion with a qualified clinician.
  • To ensure accurate, up-to-date clinical records are kept, ensuring their security and confidentiality at all times.
  • To record and submit clinical activity data as required by the Trust in an accurate and timely manner.
  • To be responsible for safe and competent use of equipment including the provision of support, education and training to other staff, patients and carers as required.
  • To be responsible for the maintenance, cleaning, monitoring and loan of equipment, maintaining its security at all times and keeping accurate records as required.
  • To be responsible for ordering and stock control of materials and equipment as required.
  • To support administrative and housekeeping duties as required.
  • To be an active member of a weekend rota or rostered 7 day service, dependant on service need.
GOVERNANCE
  • To maintain an awareness of relevant new and current professional, Trust and developmental standards, policies, procedures and guidelines, ensuring compliance.
  • To support the implementation of national & professional guidelines e.g. NICE
  • To be a member of a relevant professional association, attending regional and national meetings/conferences as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Trust policies, procedures and guidelines for self and others, by taking action/alerting senior management team if practice appears to contravene policy, or if concerned about any aspect of patient care.
MANAGERIAL / LEADERSHIP
  • To demonstrate appropriate time management and organisation skills.
  • To contribute ideas to enable the development and implementation of service improvements.
  • To contribute to the delivery of service objectives and designated projects.
  • To contribute to relevant departmental meetings.
  • Ensure a healthy, safe and secure working environment, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate documentation and reporting any concerns., To assist in the preparation of training materials and organisation of group sessions as required.
  • Take responsibility for own learning and development by recognising and taking advantage of all opportunities to learn, including full participation in KSF/appraisal, supervision, action learning and by maintaining a professional/personal portfolio of learning.
