Community Support Worker – Welshpool, WA

Responsibilities
- Facilitate community development initiatives and collective solutions to address recreational, health, housing, employment, and other welfare matters.
- Monitor and report client progress.
- Assess community needs and resources for health, welfare, housing, employment, training and other services.
- Help participants achieve their individual goals.
- Assess client needs, developmental planning, and implement educational, training and supportive programmes.
- Refer clients to agencies for additional help.
- Support families and provide education and care for children and disabled persons in adult service units, group housing and government institutions.
- Assist young people to solve social, emotional and financial problems.
- Discuss clients and assess the extent of difficulties.
- Support with daily living and personal care/homecare, domestic duties.
- Arrange and supervise activities designed to enhance the physical, social and emotional well‑being of participants.
- Supervise offenders on probation and parole.
- Prepare paperwork for funding and resources, and documents to government bodies and other agencies.
- Liaise with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies and private businesses about community issues and promote awareness of community resources and services.

Essential Criteria
- First Aid Certificate/CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
- Valid Driver’s Licence/own reliable, licensed car with comprehensive car insurance.
- National Police Check.
- Current Working with Children Check or willingness to get one.
- Need to have full working rights in Australia or an appropriate visa.
- Manual Handling Certificate or willingness to get one.
Beneficial
- Certificate III/IV in Disability Services, Aged Care or equivalent.
- Other qualifications related to this position.
Qualifications and Experience
1 year of relevant work experience required for this role. Expected salary: $75,000 - $80,000 per year.
