Community Support Worker – Welshpool, WA

Access Foundation WA is hiring a full‑time Community Support Worker role in Welshpool, WA. Apply now to be part of our team.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate community development initiatives and collective solutions to address recreational, health, housing, employment, and other welfare matters.
  • Monitor and report client progress.
  • Assess community needs and resources for health, welfare, housing, employment, training and other services.
  • Help participants achieve their individual goals.
  • Assess client needs, developmental planning, and implement educational, training and supportive programmes.
  • Refer clients to agencies for additional help.
  • Support families and provide education and care for children and disabled persons in adult service units, group housing and government institutions.
  • Assist young people to solve social, emotional and financial problems.
  • Discuss clients and assess the extent of difficulties.
  • Support with daily living and personal care/homecare, domestic duties.
  • Arrange and supervise activities designed to enhance the physical, social and emotional well‑being of participants.
  • Supervise offenders on probation and parole.
  • Prepare paperwork for funding and resources, and documents to government bodies and other agencies.
  • Liaise with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies and private businesses about community issues and promote awareness of community resources and services.

Essential Criteria
  • First Aid Certificate/CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence/own reliable, licensed car with comprehensive car insurance.
  • National Police Check.
  • Current Working with Children Check or willingness to get one.
  • Need to have full working rights in Australia or an appropriate visa.
  • Manual Handling Certificate or willingness to get one.
Beneficial
  • Certificate III/IV in Disability Services, Aged Care or equivalent.
  • Other qualifications related to this position.
