Job summary

Brainkind in Leeds is seeking a Community Support Worker for Kippax/Butt Hill to provide personalised support to adult residents with brain injuries, following individual support plans to develop independent living skills. You will help with daily tasks, personal care and community activities, fostering independence and a supportive living environment.

The role requires a full UK driving licence and a strong commitment to wellbeing.

Community Support Worker ** DRIVER REQUIRED**

Kippax

Salary: £13.21 per hour with £1 extra on a Bank Holiday and Weekend

Hours: 28 hours per week

The Role

We will train you to provide personalised support to our adult residents. You will follow individual support plans to meet the needs and aspirations of each person. The focus is developing independent living skills: personal hygiene, meal preparation, exercise, leisure activities, socialising – the daily routine of regular life.

Main duties will include:

  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with the service users, contributing to the creation of a homely and pleasant living environment for each service user.
  • Participate in the development of service user/s support plans, risk assessments and programmes, complete written records as necessary and in accordance with the guidelines provided.
  • Providing care and support for our service users when conducting daily tasks
  • Provide personal care as and when required
  • Creatively support our service users to reach their full potential, achieve their goals and live their best lives
  • Accompany service users in activities and visits as and when required

Skills/Experience required:

  • Previous experience of working within a care/support environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Good IT skills
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Good time management
  • Ability to prioritise own workload
  • Patience and resilience
  • Flexibility and Commitment
