Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a staff nurse to join the friendly Stort Valley and Villages Integrated Community Team which provides care to patients in Bishops Stortford and surrounding areas. The service covers hours of 08:00 – 22:00, 7 days a week.

We welcome applications from student nurses, as we provide full training and support in a community role. We also welcome applications from acute nurses who are looking for a community based role. The post offers varied and interesting community experience in a well supported environment and is an ideal opportunity for a nurse interested in working in the community.

Responsibilities and duties

The post holder will be committed to teamwork and will have good communication, decision making and planning skills. The post holder will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised nursing care to patients living in the community. The service is provided 7 days per week, so a flexible approach to working is required. In the absence of the Community Nursing Sister, the post holder may take responsibility for the team and caseload.

Providing a high standard of patient care using an evidence based framework.

Qualifications and requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, provide and evaluate evidence-based nursing care for a wide range of conditions.
  • A full valid driving licence and access to a car to use for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
  • Students are welcome to apply; training and support provided.
  • All overseas applicants must have FULL registration with the NMC (including an OSCE pass); if full NMC registration is not held, applications will not be successful. We can sponsor fully registered candidates who live outside the UK, but relocation costs are not paid.
