A regional healthcare provider is seeking an Evening and Night nurse to join an established team supporting community health initiatives in Nottinghamshire. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, providing treatment support, and maintaining clinical records during shifts from 6 pm to 8 am. Ideal candidates should have community experience; palliative care skills are a plus. Join a dedicated team contributing to essential healthcare services.
We are seeking a new Evening and Night nurse to work in an already established team. We have vacancies in both the North and South Nottinghamshire teams. You will work closely with our Urgent Community Response (UCR) teams, ensuring the right clinician attends the right urgent response during the evening and night‑time, to maintain safety and deliver nursing care when needed.
Our service is fast‑paced during the out‑of‑hours period with a 2–4‑hour response time, covering the nursing elements within the UCR clinical conditions. This includes urgent end‑of‑life care, continence care, catheter care, and wound care needs overnight. The team operates across south Nottinghamshire (Rushcliffe, Nottingham North, East, and West) and north Nottinghamshire (Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark, Sherwood) and Bassetlaw.
Working independently in patients’ homes, you will collaborate with UCR services and the out‑of‑hours GP provider to ensure the right team is attending each patient to fulfil their urgent nursing needs. The team is mixed with nurses and community support workers, partnering with day teams and UCR to provide a seamless nursing service between 6 pm and 8 am.
Full time or part time positions are available. Working hours are a variety of shift patterns, the hours 6 pm‑8 am on seven days including weekends and bank holidays.
Community experience is preferred but those with appropriate transferable skills will be considered. Palliative care experience/catheterisation skills would be desirable but training can be given to the successful candidate.
The position requires you to work independently, however being a team player is vital.
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced); this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
A robust and tailored competency‑based development package will support you with a vast array of newly acquired nursing skills.
Newly qualified staff will receive a tailored preceptorship programme.
Access to clinical and managerial supervision from a vast experience base.
You will be part of a fantastic team who put patient care at the centre of everything they do.
