Overview

The district nursing service is fundamental in delivering the health boards’ clinical futures model by providing care closer to home, enabling early discharge and preventing hospital admissions. We deliver holistic care to patients within their own homes and in residential homes, meeting the increasing health complexities of our patient population. Assessment, planning and delivering high standards of care are achieved through effective collaboration and partnership working.

Main duties of the job

To care for patients and their families within their own homes is a privilege. The Newbridge district nursing team has an exciting opportunity for a community staff nurse to join a 24/7 service and work with a supportive, dedicated and forward-thinking team. You will have the opportunity to develop your clinical and interpersonal skills with continuing professional development opportunities to prepare you with the skills to meet the evolving autonomous role of the community nurse through engagement in a robust induction programme.
