Successful candidates will be responsible for assessing care needs, and the planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care using innovative evidence based practice.
Community nursing is exceptionally rewarding as it allows wonderful therapeutic relationships to be developed with patients in their own homes. Working in this capacity embodies the person centred care approach and allows patients to truly be at the centre of care delivery.
The skillset of a community nurse is vast and non-exhaustive requiring knowledge and expertise in a range of areas. Examples of interventions provided are wound management, continence care, palliative care, medication administration and long term condition management.
