Job summary

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current UK Professional Registration (NMC)
• Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD)
• Experience in performing spirometry and willingness to complete ARTP accreditation
• Study at level 7 (masters level)
• Relevant Spirometry qualification, or willingness to undertake
• Counselling Course or Module
• Relevant COPD qualification (or willing to undertake)
• Teaching and assessing qualification.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for own actions in accordance with professional standards and policies.
• Communicate clinical decisions and care pathways to patients and multi-professional team.
• Communicate sensitive information to patients from diverse backgrounds and tackle health inequalities.
• Provide clinical leadership and support to staff and service leads.
• Conduct clinical assessment of patients with COPD and plan evidence-based care.
• Perform spirometry, venepuncture, inhaler technique and related tests.
• Develop and educate staff; provide supervision and mentorship.
• Utilise IT systems to secure patient, workforce and resource data.
• Manage varying clinical events with appropriate level of physical effort.
• Support patients and carers during difficult situations and adverse events.
• Promote Health and Safety and Trust policies.
