Job summary

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a Community Safety Officer to engage with communities, deliver Safe and Well visits, and provide tailored fire and safety guidance. The role focuses on safeguarding vulnerable residents and coordinating with partners to reduce risk across Berkshire.

You will build relationships with diverse groups, work independently, and communicate effectively to achieve positive safety outcomes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of public safety practices and community engagement.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Customer-focused approach and commitment to safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Undertake Safe and Well Visits and provide tailored fire and safety advice.
• Identify and address fire and community safety risks with appropriate interventions.
• Deliver fire safety, water safety, road safety, and vulnerability-related guidance.
• Collaborate with internal teams and partner organisations to support vulnerable individuals.
• Maintain accurate records in line with safeguarding and data protection requirements.
