Job summary

West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service is seeking a Programme Support Assistant to help deliver education and engagement programmes and support operational crews in the community. The role involves planning, coordinating events, and maintaining records with confidentiality.

You will work with a diverse range of partners, develop in-depth knowledge of Prevention activities, and utilise strong IT and communication skills to ensure smooth delivery of campaigns.

Qualifications

• BTEC Higher qualification or equivalent experience.
• NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification or experience in IT or administration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong IT skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; ability to manage data and records.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support in planning, development and delivery of events.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal customers, team members and external partners.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of an area within Prevention (e.g., Targeted Education, Safe and Well, or Volunteers).
• Assist operational crews, volunteers and others with events and campaigns, including scheduling and resource sharing.
• Respond to enquiries from customers, volunteers and crews; adapt communication to audience.
• Maintain accurate records with confidentiality.
