Qualifications

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the nurse led integrated community respiratory team delivering care to the adult population of South East Essex.

The team have two sites, Rochford Hospital and Thundersley clinic and are looking for a Band 6 nurse to enhance the delivery of respiratory care to patients in a clinic setting or their own home.

The team consists of B7 specialist nurses and physiotherapist, B6 nurses and physiotherapist, B4 associate practitioners, B3 HCA and admin support. As an integrated service the team provide assessment and review of patients with a confirmed respiratory diagnosis including COPD, ILD and bronchiectasis, diagnostic spirometry, oxygen as the local HOSAR and respiratory physiotherapy.

The successful applicant will ideally have a respiratory experience with a good understanding of long‑term conditions and multi‑morbidities. Excellent communication and listening skills are essential.

The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team and have an understanding of primary care, secondary care, MDT working and ICB’s.

Main duties of the job
  • To assist the team in the management and service delivery for local residents suffering from respiratory disease.
  • This will require holistic assessment to meet health and social care needs and will include assisting with respiratory virtual ward, performing basic observations, venepuncture, capillary blood gases and undertaking spirometry.
