Overview

An exciting opportunity within Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Community Public Health Assistant 5-19 to join the Basingstoke Community Public Health Nursing 5-19 Team (formally known as School Nursing) on a term time only contract of between 30 to 37.5 hours a week, based at Parklands House in Basingstoke. The Trust is committed to improving the quality of child health services across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and takes pride in rewarding the success of its staff.

We are looking for motivated individuals with good knowledge and experience of working with children, young people and families. You should have the ability to work within a skill-mixed team to deliver allocated components of the Healthy Child Programme. Working as a team player under the delegation of the Community Public Health Nurse 5-19, your role will require you to work in partnership with schools to promote and enhance the health and well-being of children and families. You will need excellent communication skills and be able to relate well to children and young people. It is essential to be able to prioritise workload and manage time effectively. Applicants must have excellent IT skills, as the role includes recording clinical data on the electronic record system. A full driving licence, access to a car and insurance for business use are required.
