To ensure continuity of care, our preference is to recruit a candidate who is willing to reside on or relocate to Arran. However, consideration will be given to applicants living on the mainland who can demonstrate their ability to meet the travel requirements of the role and provide a consistent service to the Arran population.
36.00 hours per week. The Community Psychiatric Nursing Team provides a service Monday to Thursday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, excluding Public Holidays. On Fridays, the core service closes at 3.30 pm; however, due to the need to maintain the Duty Service until 5.00 pm, this is covered on a rotational basis by nursing staff based at Three Towns Resource Centre.
A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
You will provide assessment, treatment, and care coordination for individuals experiencing mental health difficulties who reside on the Isle of Arran.
You will receive professional support, supervision, and line management from the North Ayrshire Community Mental Health Team, based at Three Towns Resource Centre, Saltcoats.
You will work closely with local health and social care colleagues while remaining fully integrated within the wider North Ayrshire multidisciplinary mental health service.
You will be highly motivated, confident working autonomously, and committed to delivering high‑quality mental health care to individuals diagnosed with, or suspected of experiencing, mental illness.
The role involves undertaking comprehensive assessments, providing treatment and therapeutic interventions, and coordinating care in line with recovery‑focused and person‑centred principles.
Care will be delivered within patients’ homes and community settings across a unique rural and island environment.
This post offers an excellent opportunity to develop autonomous practice while benefiting from the support of an experienced multidisciplinary team and established professional networks.
