Role

We are looking for a Physiotherapist to join the North Lancashire Community Therapy Team, based from the community offices at Lancaster.

The service works closely with the Integrated Care Communities, local GP's, Adult Social Care, Advanced Clinical Practitioners and hospital discharge teams. The service supports people with a wide variety of conditions including elderly care, frailty and falls, orthopaedics and long‑term condition management.

Main Duties
  • Work as an individual within the community therapy team undertaking specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients with frequently complex problems in their own homes, residential and nursing care homes or our 23‑bed residential rehabilitation unit.
  • Have completed a range of core rotations within the NHS as a physiotherapist with a desire to develop your clinical skills further.
  • Demonstrate and evidence your own professional development.
  • Demonstrate your ability to work independently when necessary.
  • Have a friendly and flexible attitude, which is patient focused and dedicated to quality care.
  • Use your expertise to supervise and teach physiotherapy students and other staff within the service.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Health and Care Professions Council registered Physiotherapist.
  • Honours Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy approved by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy/Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Evidence of relevant postgraduate specialist clinical education.
  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (desirable).
  • Comprehensive rotational experience as a Staff grade in core physiotherapy competencies (elderly care, musculoskeletal, neurology, orthopaedics and cardio‑respiratory care).
  • Experience working in the UK NHS and effectively within a team.
  • Awareness of elderly rehabilitation.
  • Previous experience working in the community setting (desirable).
  • Evidence of effective written communication skills in English.
  • Commitment, motivation and adaptability.
  • Understanding of legal responsibilities within the profession.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to liaise effectively with the multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Basic IT skills and ability to travel around the North Lancashire area by public transport.
  • Ability to think quickly, assess clinical situations and make decisions based upon that information.
Contract & Salary

Band 6, Permanent. £38,682 to £46,580 per annum, pro rata.

Working Pattern

Full‑time, Part‑time, Flexible working.
